New and improved?

I met up with my old friend (or foe?) the treadmill today. Six miles done.

I bought new running shoes today. Mizuno Wave Inspire 7. I've worn three pairs of the Wave Inspire 6 so I'm curious to see the "improvements" they've made.

Anyone have an experience with a new generation of running shoe not being as great as the old one? I'm a little disturbed by the new lacing design. The second to top lace hole on the outside edge of the shoe is on a sort of flap that hangs off of the shoe.

I'm planning on running in them tomorrow. It's always fun to try out new gear.

Side note, it's not fun to try out new gear on race day. I've made that mistake before.
